Huaraz is the capital of the Department of Ancash. It is located at 3,210 meters of altitude in the northern region of the Peruvian Andes. It is protected by two large mountain chains: the White Mountain Range and the Black Mountain Range, and its weather is dry and warm during the day but cold at night.
 
The city of Huaraz is surrounded by impressive snow-capped peaks challenging those interested in Andean climbing, as well as beautiful landscaping providing the scenaries for many adventures. It is located in the middle of the Santa Valley called “Callejon de Huaylas”, where the beauty of nature has formed an impressive valley crossed by the Santa River, which offers the opportunity for doing rafting.
 
Visiting Huaraz also offers the opportunity to visit the nearby Chavin de Huantar complex with its archaeological center dated 1200 B.C.
 



PAT 0140 - HUARAZ AND THE CHAVIN TEMPLE (3 D / 2 N) (Read Full Program)

Day 1: HUARAZ
Transfer to the bus station, departing at 08:00 or 21:00 hours for a trip of 8 hours approximately. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 2: EXCURSION TO CHAVIN
Breakfast in the hotel.
Visit to Chavin de Huantar. Lunch.
Return to Huaraz.

Day 3: HUARAZ…….
Breakfast in the hotel and transfer to the bus station. Take the bus to Lima or Trujillo.

 

PAT 0143 - ECOLOGICAL HUARAZ (4 D / 3 N) (Read Full Program)

Day 1: HUARAZ
Transfer to the bus station, departing at 08:00 or 21:00 hours for a trip of approximately 8 hours.
Transfer to the hotel.

Day 2: EXCURSION TO THE LLANGANUCO LAGOON
Breakfast in the hotel. Tour to Llanganuco Lagoon, Callejon de Huaylas visiting villages such as Monterrey, Marcara, Carhuaz, Ranrahirca and Yungay.
Visit the village of Caraz. Stop for a typical lunch.


 
Day 3: EXCURSION TO CHAVIN
Breakfast in the hotel and visit to Chavin de Huantar.
Stop for lunch and return to Huaraz.

Day 4: HUARAZ…….
Breakfast in the hotel and transfer to the bus terminal to take the bus to Lima or Trujillo.

NOTE: The trip Lima/Huaraz is on a regular bus service unless a group or special service has been contracted as part of this program, which will have additional charges.
